The National Park Service offers free admission on designated fee-free days for U.S. residents, year-round entry at specific parks, and free permanent or annual passes for military members, veterans, fourth-graders, and individuals with permanent disabilities.

Free Access Programs & Passes
- Military & Veterans: Free annual passes for current military/dependents and free lifetime passes for veterans and Gold Star Families via the National Park Service Military Passes.
- 4th Graders: Free access for U.S. 4th-grade students and their families for the school year through Every Kid Outdoors.
- Access Pass: Free lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities.
Volunteers: Free annual interagency pass after earning 250 service hours at federal recreation sites.
2026 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks
Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:
- February 16: Presidents Day (Washington's Birthday)
- May 25: Memorial Day
- June 14: Flag Day/President Trump's birthday
- July 3–5: Independence Day weekend
- August 25: 110th Birthday of the National Park Service
